Assignment 1: Group Exercise
Question 1: Introduction of our Team
Franziska Heggemann (Franzi):
I am from Germany, Cologne, and 25 years old;
have finished my high school in England, Oxford;
after that did a gap year
where I have been in the USA, Spain, Argentine and Germany for iternships;
finished my undergraduate in International Management in Munich; have been in
Shenzhen last year
for an internship and again in the USA; as you can see I have
travelled a lot and gained work
experience all over the world; I love skiing,
art can fascinate me easily and I enjoy to hang out with
friends; my family is
very important to me; my future career goal is to be a leader.
MA Tianheng (Candy):
Hi, my Chinese name is MA Tianheng, and you can
call me Candy. I am from mainland China and my hometown is Hefei, the province
of Anhui. I graduated from China University of Mining and Technology Yinchuan
College. I am a hardworking and outgoing girl, I have passion about everything
and try to do best。

YANG Zhengrong:
My name is YANG Zhengrong, which means
extraordinary in Chinese. I was born and grow up in Hubei, after graduated from
Hubei economic university,I have worked in the government as a civil servant
for several months, then I resigned and come to Hong Kong to study.
Question 2: Our Group Name
Our group name is Zebra. On the one hand, Zebra
is named by its protective body stripe, each zebra stripe is different. Just
like our group member, we are unique and each individual, too. On the other hand,
Zebra always consists of groups, even elderly individuals will not be expelled
from the group life and group is very tight and not loose. The members of the
group are friendly, often living together, sharing the same food with other herbivores
such as ostriches, giraffes and antelopes. Our group is like Zebra, each
individual work together with others and share informations. What’s more, Zebra
always know which way to go and leading others, all of our group members want
to be a leader like Zebra.
Question 3: Group Goals
We all know collaboration gets more and more
important in our daily work life. In the future, we need to find a job and
negotiating with others in work, our group want to put the theory into our
daily work life, learning how to negotiate and cooperate with our future
colleagues, learn some useful ways and skills to build trust among individual
and to be a good leader to build high performance group.
Question 4: Excitement about weekly topics
As we can see, weekly topics is different and
specific, they can add more value for our future work. So we can learn
different knowledge and know how to deal with some problems with group member when
we face in the future. We think this is the most part which excites us.
Question 5: Additional topics
We are also interested in the topic about how to motivate our colleges who are not actively in our group. Because sometimes when other group members are busy at group work while someone are not care more about it because they know other colleges will finish it and they do not need do anything, and incentive these people is quite difficult.

Question 6: A Myth about collaboration
First of all, lets be clear about the definition of a myth. It’s origin
comes from the mid 19th century:

be true. Also
it can be described as a widely held but false belief or idea. Cultures or
groups of people
tell myths in order to help define themselves as people
or understand the word around them. But why
are people telling myths? Well
myths entertain us today, but it was from myths that we learned to

genealogy, from myths that are the origins of ideas – psychology, time keeping
understanding
and naming human emotions.
We decided to choose the following myth: "Nationality is not
interfering in collaborations"
